Cottondale Has Many Successes at State Competition

The Cottondale FFA Chapter competed in a number of Career Development Events at the University of Florida campus in Gainesville.

The Agricultural Communications Team submitted a written media plan about a given topic prior to the state contest. At the contest, the team was required to present the media plan, as well as take a two-part communications quiz. The Agricultural Communications Team placed fourth; team members were Taylor Dumas, Caitlyn Parker, Lillie Livingston, and Addison Griffin.

The Agricultural Sales and Service Team completed an exam, a team presentation, and individual sales calls. This team, which consisted of Carl Young, Blayton See, Kayley Turner, and Sommer Gurganus, placed sixth in the state. Carl Young also placed first high individually.

The Farm and Agribusiness Management Team completed a two-part written test. This team consisted of Josie Scott, Hanna McClain, Kasey Lathan, and Caleb Reed. The business team placed sixth in the state.

Lastly, Josh Scurlock competed in the Production Division of the Middle School Ornamental Horticulture Demonstration CDE. Josh placed second in the state with his presentation on raised bed gardening.

Congratulations to each of these teams and individuals. Cottondale FFA is looking forward to another successful year.
